Thanks...
Happy Thanksgiving all! I'm thankful for my small, but oh so full of love family. Also all of my friends literally around the world, being employed, living in this fine metro area, and most of all, all the men & women of the US military. I love you all!

Another Capitals Game
So yeah, it just plain old pays to know the right people. A friend of mine invited me out to another Washington Capitals hockey game earlier this week. Of course, I was all about going and was all ready to pay. Although get this, I went for free...and sat in the club level of Verizon Center! So it was me, my friend, and around 6 Canadian guys...all expenses paid! Here's a couple pics from the phone...and yes, we won. After all, the Caps are DC's one good major league sports team.

Ft. Hood
"These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis. It's difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil."

A litte more to the story...
Well, I kept going back and forth the last few months leading up to Halloween, on what I wanted to be. I ended up going full circle back to my original choice, that being Michael Jackson. Although I did have the grand idea of going as "Smooth Criminal" Mike, but I was finding it hard to find all things in white I needed after Labor Day. So I decided to go with "Beat It" Mike instead. I took liberties with the outfit though...I had the red jacket, but not the blue shirt he wore under it...I actually had the white piano/musical notes T he wore in the beginning of the video, then I finished off the look with a skinny black pants, sequined glove, a black fedora, and some aviator sunglasses. I must say, all the effort was worth it...
Fast forward to heading out last night...M Street into Georgetown was pretty damn backed up, so me and friend Larry (dressed as a fly Snoop Dogg, pimp-style) walked across the Key Bridge from VA into DC. Here's where it got cool...got random "Hi Mikes" to "Hee-Hees" to even a couple people stuck in traffic on the bridge wanting a picture I was walked by. This trend continued into the bar, Rhino, where more pics were taken...dancing ensued (although I guess I shoulda requested the DJ to play "Beat It", but I assumed he had me...but he didn't). It was an awesome time...and a fitting tribute to a guy who's music I grew up on...not to mention making an effort to seeing "This Is It" earlier in the afternoon. Now here's the kicker...I didn't bring my damn camera...so as of now I only have the shot you see above! :( I'm seriously considering putting something up on Craigslist asking if anyone would like to the photos, because I must've been in at least 10 shots!
Oh, and in the biggest shock of the night...I was the only MJ! I thought for sure there would be a few...but nope...at least not in that little corner of Georgetown.
Oh, and thanks to Larry, Tigger, Randi, Jenny, Bobby, Ronnie, Marquis, Karin, and the coolest bartenders, Justin and Jeff...for making it even a cooler night. Oh, and the girls who danced with a real Michael (yes, I did get a kick out of the fact everyone already "knew" my name).
